ORBITA COLLABORATES WITH VALENCIA PORT AUTHORITY IN THE CONTEXT OF CONTAIN PROJECT
Orbita develops an empty container inspection system in collaboration with Valencia Port Authority within the CONTAIN Project
Orbita develops an empty container inspection system in collaboration with Valencia Port Authority within the CONTAIN Project by designing a prototype for the inspection and automatic identification of false walls or unexpected objects inside the containers that have been stated as ‘empty’.
The system description, as well as the development process and its multiple applications in terms of security and port logistics were explained to all the project partners who attended the event.
The completely automated inspection and the 3D views of the inside of the container were shown to the assistants, who were able to see the system working in real time in the Port of Valencia.
The reliability of the system has been proved in different on-site tests and its future use and implantation would permit a faster verification and a feasible evidence of the situation of the container at the moment it was inspected.
